The ETREC-Holston Unit has cattle for teaching and research, averaging 60 cow/calf pairs a year. Currently, this unit has more than 120 acres devoted to row crop and timber research focusing on pest control strategies, crop breeding and environmental sustainability.
The Holston Unit is one of several sites for experiential learning associated with the Center’s Live and Learn Internship Program for undergraduate students, as well as many 4-H youth development events (such as livestock judging and land judging contests).
